Mr. Ahmed Essa Hareb Al Falahi
Chief Executive OfficerTracing his roots to a family with a deep history in shipping and pearl diving, Ahmed Essa Hareb Al Falahi has always been passionate about marine trade. Coupled with the right knowledge, skill and experience he gained from studying finance, Al Falahi has been the captain of the ship of Gulf Energy Maritime (GEM) as its CEO since 2006. For over fifteen years, he has consistently and successfully steered GEM into becoming a well-established and leading independent commercial product tanker operator.
Armed with a double degree in Finance and General Business from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Al Falahi's financial acumen and excellent business sense was further enhanced from his eight-year stint with Etisalat, a UAE-based telecom giant, as he specialized in mergers and acquisitions. With cautious optimism, his calm and calculated approach has enabled him to rise above various challenges, which has been evidently reflected on GEM's enviable resilience through the roughest seas of the global financial crisis and slow recovery of recent times.
Having proven himself worthy of the title and responsibility as CEO of GEM, he vows to continuously and effectively steer its 14 vessels strong fleet and highly trained and professional on-shore and off-shore personnel to market leadership in terms of safety and service delivery excellence.
